RollerToaster

The act

Couples who want a streak of punk in their wedding dancing could enjoy RollerToaster's mix of rock, classics and pop punk. Their three person band centres on drums, bass and a guitarist who sings, with songs from the eighties through the two thousands. You can also consider an expanded line up, with a female singer and another guitarist among the options. More than 250 songs give them material to choose from as they respond to the crowd, and they favour longer stretches of playing. They belong in the moment when you are ready to leave the tables and give the music your attention.

Good to know

What to expect

Most bands give you three sets of 45 minutes. RollerToaster would rather play two sets of an hour and twenty with a single break, and their reasoning is sound: the standard break tends to land right when a room has finally warmed up and people are on the floor. So they keep going instead. There are over 250 songs to draw from, 80s, 90s and 2000s classics, rock and some pop punk, which means they can follow whatever the crowd is responding to instead of grinding through a fixed list.

On the day

Power, and floor space big enough for the band to fit in. The PA and the lighting both arrive with them, fully included, so your venue isn't sourcing a system or paying for a rig. Worth measuring the corner you had in mind before the day, since a three piece with a full lighting setup takes up more room than people expect.

Performance options

The trio is the standard line-up: drums, bass, and guitar with vocals. For corporate work the band grows to five, adding a female singer and a second guitarist, which gives you both male and female lead vocals and a wider range of songs to pick from. They'll also travel out of Melbourne, as far as Echuca, Sale and Wonthaggi.
