Aussie Thunder doesn't soften classic Australian hard rock for the room, which is exactly what the right couple will want. The five piece works through music by AC/DC, the Angels, Rose Tattoo, Noiseworks, Jimmy Barnes, INXS, Divinyls and Dragon. Years of live performance sit behind the way the band builds three substantial sets and keeps the big songs moving through the night. Based in Eltham, they offer wedding music with the scale and volume of a proper rock show rather than a polite nod to the genre. A bold choice for a couple who would rather open the floor with Australian hard rock than ease into it quietly.

Good to know
What to expect
Loud, and unapologetic about it. Aussie Thunder bring a full production of classic Australian hard rock and run three sets of 50 minutes, which is enough to get a dance floor going and keep it there. Years of pubs, clubs, festivals and private functions sit behind the way they pace a night, and it shows in when they choose to drop the big ones. This is a five piece playing the songbook properly rather than politely.
On the day
Five musicians need roughly six metres across and four and a half deep. Aussie Thunder arrive two hours ahead of the start and use that window for setup and a sound check, so factor that into your venue access. They travel with their own PA and lighting rig and their full production, though they're happy to run through a house PA where the venue has one worth using.
