The walk down the aisle to two violins, Canon in D or A Thousand Years, and then the same players moving onto the lawn for the drinks. Amaré Strings are a Perth ensemble who play live for weddings and events around the city, from the engagement party to the wedding itself. The repertoire runs from Bach and Pachelbel through Fly Me to the Moon to All of Me, September and Bohemian Rhapsody, with hymns in there too. So the ceremony can be classical, the drinks jazz, and the dinner pop played on strings. Two violins make the duo; a viola turns it into a trio; a cello completes the quartet. They pride themselves on making the planning easy, which is a real thing to offer a couple with a hundred other decisions.

What to expect
Amare Strings work as an addition to an event rather than the centre of it, bringing an elegant live sound to corporate functions, private celebrations and ceremonies. The playing is unobtrusive enough to sit under conversation and strong enough to hold a room when it needs to.
On the day
Each musician needs an armless chair, and the group needs adequate lighting whether they are playing inside or out. For outdoor bookings on a fine day they will need shade, and a tree is perfectly good for that. Worth flagging your setting when you enquire so any of this can be sorted in advance.
Set List
The contemporary side of the repertoire includes A Gift of a Thistle by James Horner, A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman, A Thousand Years by Christina Perri, A Whole New World from Aladdin and Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows, among many others. Classical selections sit alongside them, so a ceremony and a reception can be given quite different characters.
Performance options
Three formats are available. The duo is two violins, the trio adds a viola, and the quartet is two violins, viola and cello. Larger formats fill a bigger room more easily, while the duo suits an intimate ceremony. Mention your space and guest numbers in your enquiry and they will advise which one fits.
